How he got involved with the MDRT Foundation: Participating in the Food Angel project in Hong Kong in January 2016, encouraged by 2005 MDRT President Adelia C. Chung, CLU, ChFC, a 36-year MDRT member from Honolulu, Hawaii. “I had a memorable experience and felt very touched by simply serving simple meals to older men and women,” Yu said.
Volunteer experiences that followed: Building a playground for the MDRT Foundation service project in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, in 2016; speaking in the ConneXion Zone in 2016 with Chung on the topic of the Foundation service project; serving on the Global Engagement Committee in 2017 and 2018; helping with the 2017 MDRT Give Kids the World service project in Orlando, Florida; serving as a volunteer fundraiser for the inaugural MDRT Gives Day in 2017.
What’s next: “Whenever I am given the opportunity to serve, share and give back, I will surely give my top priority to MDRT,” Yu said. “What I’ve done for the Foundation is minimal, but my involvement with the MDRT Foundation is now an integral part of my MDRT life.”
