Opportunities abound through the MDRT Foundation.

Since its inception, the MDRT Foundation has and continues to empower MDRT members to be philanthropic leaders in the communities in which they live and around the globe. The MDRT Foundation makes it easy to have a chance to create change through the global grant programs and volunteerism.

Global grant programs

The MDRT Foundation global grant programs are an exclusive member benefit that allow members to request funding for a charity they care about. Members are encouraged to work with their favorite charity to complete an application online for one of its two primary grant programs, Quality of Life and Worldwide. The annual grant application deadline is September 1.

Quality of Life grants. This grant program honors the volunteer efforts of MDRT members who give their time to serve charitable causes in their own communities and worldwide. The MDRT Foundation awards grants to the member’s designated charity in increments ranging from $5,000 to one top award of $50,000.

Worldwide grants. These grants are awarded to fund a diverse range of nonprofit organizations and must be endorsed by an MDRT member. Award amounts range from $1,000 to $25,000.

In addition, the MDRT Foundation promotes grant awardees’ philanthropic involvement to local community media and public officials. To learn more about the global grant programs and eligibility guidelines, visit

Volunteer opportunities

The MDRT Foundation’s commitment to community service and giving back to those in need includes facilitating and funding hands-on service projects. As part of each MDRT meeting, the Foundation partners with nonprofit organizations to create an opportunity for members to engage with each other and experience the immediate impact of giving back.

Past projects have included grounds beautification, meal prep, playground build, home build, supply drives and bag assembly. Each project has engaged anywhere from 25 to nearly 200 MDRT members.

As 2002 MDRT Foundation President and Excalibur Knight Allen R. Bruce, CLU, ChFC, once said, “MDRT is what we do. The MDRT Foundation is who we are.” Get the most out of your membership by joining your fellow MDRT members and giving back in a way that is right for you.
